Marc has a new Etsy store!!

My husband, Marc, is now an official Estian. He makes beautiful hand screened silk ties. I've been helping him get organized, think up design concepts, and post listings. He got his first sale within 8 hours of posting his first 4 ties! How freakin' exciting is that!! He was ecstatic and I was really happy for him. It sure is a good feeling when someone purchases art that is handmade by you. Check out his store: Mr.TieDicker.

Inner Beauty Earrings Tutorial

I've been working hard on putting together the tutorial for these lovely earrings. This past Saturday I had my brother's girlfriend model the earrings for me. So, I wanted to come by and post a couple of the pictures that we took. I have to say that I think they turned out really well. :) I should have the tutorial ready within the next week or two. I'll be selling it at my Etsy storefront. It's all so exciting!

A little late evening posting is in order. I've signed up for Twitter about a week ago and have been totally into it! I love reading all of the posts and checking out all of the links everyone shows off. If you haven't tried it, get with the program! Just wanted to give a shout out to all my Tweeps out there! You can find me on Twitter under piecesofve.

Also, today I added myself to the Google Base using www.letsets.com. I was pretty dang proud of myself, because I really had no clue what in the world I was doing. It said I was a success though! I'm quite excited if you can't tell. It says it'll start posting in the Google Shopping section within the next 24 hours. We'll see!

Jewelry wise I've been wire wrapping some lovely stones and pearls and crystals to sell on Etsy. My goal is to make affordable jewelry that customers can piece together for holiday gifts, or really for any occasion needed. Hopefully, I'll have sometime to take some pics this weekend. That's all for now.

Raindrop Tutorial Pic

I finally have a few minutes to come and post a pic and blog a little bit. I just wanted to show off a necklace that I created and named Raindrop. This necklace is the first tutorial that I started writing. I have not finished the tutorial yet; however, I am about half way done. It's hard having a full time job, a family, and a small business that I am trying to start. No one said it was going to be easy, I guess. I really love this necklace. It holds a special place in my heart. Hope you like it!

5 months later...

Alright, so five months later is a little long for posting on my blog, since I was posting every weekend or so for the first several weeks. What can I say, I've been busy! I just finished posting last night some of my handmade earwires that I am making for my Etsy store . They are soooo cute! I already got 3 orders. Yippee!! And, I got part of my website done and up at: piecesofve.com. My wonderful hubby, who is a very talented website developer, put it together in his free time. It's still got a little ways to go, but for now at least I have something.

Jewelry wise I have been working on a new tutorial called Circles of Life Bracelet. I'm about a 1/3 of the way finished. Lots of work, I tell ya, but once it'll be complete it will be great! The tutorial is going to feature 5 different circle designs that you can use to make a beautiful, custom bracelet. Each circle has it's own meaning - like little fortune cookies you can wear on your wrist. I'm very excited about getting it finished and posted. Depending on the interest of the tutorial, I will possibly create additional add-on circle designs down the road.

Update on my friend Alison, that I taught how to wire wrap, she is now making her own earrings that she is selling to her friends and online at her website: alimjewelry.com. She loves to use Swarovski crystals and freshwater pearls to make lovely and unique earrings. Check out her website. Keep up the good work, Ali!

I don't have any pictures to post right now. Hopefully, shortly I can get around to posting pics of the tutorial I'm currently working on and some other pieces that I have made recently.

Ali's Earrings

I wish this pic had showed how much the Swarovski crystals really sparkle and shine. These earrings are stunning in person.

Ali's first Bracelet

This weekend (Friday and Saturday), Ali and I spent the day shopping for beads and supplies, and making jewelry. It was her first time using silver wire. So, I taught her how to wire wrap loops, bend the wire, pound the wire to flatten it, and coil the wire around. She had a lot of fun. I'm posting her bracelet that she made on Friday and my second post will be the earrings we made the next day. I'm soooooo proud of you Ali!

Ali's B-day Present

Ali, my girlfriend, and I went to 2 local bead/gem shows a couple months back, and I found these fabulous sterling silver skulls on a strand at a silver dealer. I debated on whether to buy them or not, because there was almost 30 of them on one strand, so the strand was a little pricey. I had already spent soooo much, but Ali talked me into getting them. When I got home and started going through all the fun things we had got, I really fell in love with these skulls. They are fun and trendy! So, I promised Ali I would make her a set of earrings using a pair of the skulls and a some other semi-precious stones she had helped me pick out. A lot of time passed by, but I finally got them done and whaa-laa here they are! I ended up finishing them right before her birthday party last weekend, and gave them to her for her birthday. She let me take pics to post this weekend.

Pictures at last!

Thank goodness for great friends! I borrowed a fabulous camera from friends of ours this weekend (thanks Bryan and Sunny) and finally got a chance to play around with taking photos. I've never been one for taking good pictures, so I let my husband, mom, and dad all create their own "prop sets" and take pics for me. Then I got to go through all the pictures and filter out the good from the bad. I took the first 100 or so outside in the morning with Jasmine, my little girl, helping me and the rest of the day I let everyone else give it a shot. The majority of the pics were of my 1st tutorial, Raindrop Pendant, and I have so many to go through now. I haven't quite narrowed down what prop set I like the best, because there's a lot of really good ones everyone took. So, for right now I'm not posting any of those. My mom did setup a great set for a mosaic bracelet that I created during a class I took at Fusion Beads with CR Radding a few months back. I'm really proud of this bracelet and wanted to show it off. Check back soon to see other pics I'll be posting over the next week.

Front Cover

Here is the front cover I put together for my first jewelry tutorial. I know it doesn't have a pic of the jewelry piece itself, but at least you get an idea of the look and feel of what I am wanting to do. I hope to take pics next week sometime - I am borrowing a pro camera from a friend and having her help me take my first pics.

Welcome!

Thank you for visiting my brand spankin' new blog! I am currently in the process of creating my first jewelry tutorial, Raindrop, that will be for sale shortly in my etsy shop - piecesofve.etsy.com. This is my first time blogging and I'm quite excited about all of the things I can do with this blog. My ultimate goal is to get several tutorials up for sale in my etsy shop, have my lovely hubbie (he's a very talented web/graphic designer) make me a rockin' website - piecesofve.com (like you couldn't guess!!), and blog weekly on this new blog I just created to track my accomplishments. Hope you enjoy watching me learn and create as I venture into the world of blogging and selling on etsy.
