So much for posting monthly...

Haha! I don't know why I thought I would. The past several months have been busy for me. My husband, daughter and I have moved into our new "old" Woodinville home and we love it! Marc, my husband, went to the East coast for a few months to work. The job wasn't all it was supposed to be, so we decided that he needed to come back. I hope that over the next 12 months we can finish up our home and get the storage all emptied and organized. Maybe become normal folks that have a home they can invite friends into!

Since, we are in our new home, I haven't been able to work on my jewelry. All of my supplies and tools are stored in boxes and I don't have a room for my crafts yet. It was really frustrating to not be able to have a craft avenue for my creativity, so I pulled out my yarn and started knitting again. I've been knitting since September or so, full speed, and I really am loving it. I knit almost every evening, in bed, while watching TV at the end of my day. I'm also quite addicted to Ravelry!

With that being said, I have decided that I would like to start a new blog (and maybe a podcast) for free yarn giveaways. I know it sounds a little crazy, but I would like to give a skein or more of yarn away every other week to a deserving knitter. My fantasy is that I could grow this blog from once every other week to maybe weekly giveaways and possibly have a really large monthly giveaway. There are a lot of blogs/podcasts out there that do giveaways along side their regular rantings about knitting, but I would like this blog to really be dedicated to giving away yarn and knitting related things for FREE!! I think it could be a useful avenue for fiber companies to get their products into the hands of new customers and who doesn't like free stuff?! Over the next couple of months, I want to really develop this idea and see how financially I could make this all work.

Til next time! Cau.

Holy SHI...

I'm actually posting 2 weeks after my last post. I'm surprising myself! The title of this post is a tribute to my wonderful days to come. I started The Master Cleanse today. If you're interested in learning about the cleanse, here's the link. I actually have a PDF of the text that Stanley Burroughs wrote. I've done this cleanse in the past and have really liked the results.

I've been very unhealthy this past year or so and recently have started seeing a naturopathic doctor. I really want to get my act together and clean up my body. I'm 27 years old and I feel 50. All in all, I'm looking to change my lifestyle and do a little prevention before any serious diseases show up.

I'm quite excited about the changes I want to make in my life, but I know that it will be a struggle. I've set aside the next 10 days to mainly concentrate on my cleanse. The Etsy orders are a little slow this week, so that is helpful and it is the slowest part of our month at the office. I'm crossing my fingers that I can do this again. I'll check back in a couple of weeks.

I'm still living and breathing...

Phew! I'm sooooo bad at this blogging thing. I really, really do want to post more often. I promise! So, I'm going to make up a schedule for myself to post at least once every 2 weeks. That means twice a month or so I'm going to set a reminder in my calendar to log onto my blog and post whatever it may be that I want to post about.

Originally, I wanted this blog to be dedicated to everything that I do regarding my jewelry creating and Etsy shop. Well, I do do other things in my life too and I think that because I spend some much time filling orders, I don't have enough energy to write about what I'm doing in regards to jewelry making. So, from here on out I'm going to post about anything and everything I feel like posting about. It's a start of a whole new blog! :)

Recently I've gotten back into knitting. I think it's because I really needed another hobby to occupy my time than just silver wire. Don't get me wrong, I love jewelry making; however, I'm filling silver orders for headpins and earwires almost everyday and I think I'm all pooped out for creating and thinking up new designs. I'm currently still working full time as well at my office job and I hope to be giving that up soon and dedicating most of my time to my "at home" business. Maybe by Fall!! I'm so excited, you don't even know. This little brain of mine needs sometime to release all of the inventive ideas I have swimming around.

Back to the knitting, I also took up spinning because of course I think that I have 48 hours in a day versus 24 like all the other folks out there. Who needs sleep?! I'm loving knitting again. It really brings me back to why I love crafting in the first place - making a handmade item that I can be proud of saying I made with my own little hands. I'm currently taking a BSJ (Baby Surprise Jacket for those of you non-knitters that need to just give in and learn how to knit. You know you want to!) class at my LYS (local yarn store) VYT (Village Yarn and Tea) in Shoreline. Oh yeah, I'm an expert at all my knitting abbreviations! :) The class is a freakin' blast! There's only 6 of us ladies plus the teacher, but everyone is super sweet and we all seem to be in the same place as far as knitting skills are concerned. I just had my second class last night out of a series of 4. I'd say we are about 1/2 of the way through the sweater even though my knitting item does not resemble a sweater one bit, but I'm keeping my hopes high because of course it's called the Baby "Surprise" Jacket.

Alright, I think I wrote enough to make up for the several month hiatus I took. Don't wanna over do it now. Be back in two weeks or maybe sooner....

Marc has a new Etsy store!!

My husband, Marc, is now an official Estian. He makes beautiful hand screened silk ties. I've been helping him get organized, think up design concepts, and post listings. He got his first sale within 8 hours of posting his first 4 ties! How freakin' exciting is that!! He was ecstatic and I was really happy for him. It sure is a good feeling when someone purchases art that is handmade by you. Check out his store: Mr.TieDicker.

Inner Beauty Earrings Tutorial

I've been working hard on putting together the tutorial for these lovely earrings. This past Saturday I had my brother's girlfriend model the earrings for me. So, I wanted to come by and post a couple of the pictures that we took. I have to say that I think they turned out really well. :) I should have the tutorial ready within the next week or two. I'll be selling it at my Etsy storefront. It's all so exciting!
